Neighborhood Mobile Pantry
PHC’s Mobile Pantry is a collaboration with Gleaners Community Food Bank and Forgotten Harvest. We provide approximately a $100 worth of groceries and fresh vegetables from our community garden to 1,500 families a month. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mobile Pantry uses a Drive-Through model, allowing groceries to be placed in cars while minimizing contact. View the 2020 Schedule here. |
NWAC Community Garden
Our Urban Garden provides food for the surrounding community and educates community members about the benefits of healthy eating through the My Garden™ curriculum. Volunteers help weed, plant, and harvest a variety of crops. We grow a range of crops using 100% organic practices, including fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers. As a community garden we would love to hear your input on what crops we plant! Want to start your own garden? Check our our community partner: Keep Growing Detroit. |
Parks Program
PHC Board Member Harold Kulish, in collaboration with the Department of Parks & Recreation and the City of Detroit, funded the revitalization of two parks in Northwest Detroit (Diack and McShane). These parks have become a community hub for the school children and their families who live around them. |
Project Healthy Community (PHC) is a health and wellness nonprofit with the bold mission of promoting the well-being of persons of all ages within communities in need.
