Weekly Zoom Sessions with Coaches
Participants meet in weekly zoom sessions and have the opportunity to meet with the program’s certified coaches to create individualized health plans to support their goals. The coaches come from a variety of health backgrounds, including a registered dietician, physician, medical residents, an exercise kinesiologist, and a social worker/health psychologist. |
Weekly Walking Groups
Join for one of our weekly walking groups along the Detroit Riverfront, meeting at the Carousel. The group meets Tuesday at 1 p.m. and Fridays at 9:30 a.m. Email Sasha to learn more, [email protected]. |
Cooking Matters Classes
Led by Gleaners Community Food Bank for Family Wellness Participants. Join a weekly virtual nutrition and meal planning lesson to learn tips and tricks for eating healthy on a budget. Watch instructional cooking videos featuring the recipe of the week with emphasis on basic culinary skills and food safety. Community Gardening Program
Program led by an urban farmer. Learn a variety of gardening techniques and take home fresh produce for your friends and family. Come volunteer with us! Tuesday and Friday mornings, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. (April – October) at the Northwest Activities Center. To volunteer email Karen, [email protected]. |
Celebratory Potluck Dinner

Mobile Pantry
PHC’s Mobile Pantry is a collaboration with Gleaners Community Food Bank and Forgotten Harvest. We provide approximately a $100 worth of groceries and fresh vegetables from our community garden to over 600 families a month. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Mobile Pantry uses a Drive-Through model, allowing groceries to be placed in cars while minimizing contact. View the 2022/2023 Winter Schedule here. |
